part of Bansko's town with great views of the Pirin Mountains, we are just
a short walk from the heart of Bansko's old town and the start of the new
state of the art ski lift.

:: Accommodation
The hotel has been fitted out to the highest standards using local materials, all the rooms have en suite bathrooms, cable TV and a connection to the internet (bring a laptop if you really can't stay away from work!) the furnishings have been hand made combining local craftsmanship with modern style.
Downstairs we have a relaxed lobby bar and restaurant offering French and Italian food and a fine selection of local wines. In the basement there is a sauna, Jacuzzi and massage service to ease aching muscles. George and his group of internationally qualified ski instructors will be on hand to give lessons for beginners as well as guide for the more intrepid extreme skier. (See FAQ's page for links).

:: Horse Riding
Horse riding in Bulgaria is fantastic. The views and countryside is spectacular and amazing. With different and interesting places to ride to everyday. Avalon hotel can book riding excursions to suit exactly what you would like to do. We have found a stables in the near by village of Bachevo run by a guy called Ivan. He has great horses, all well schooled and a pleasure to ride whatever your ability. Ivan can arrange a half an hour hack with a guide per child for very young children or for the more experienced rider anything from a 1 hour hack to 3 day excursion over the mountains to the Rila monestrey. Please email James for details of prices and availability. Ivan does have riding hats available to borrow but we recommend for the more experienced rider to bring their own.
:: Mountain Biking
The mountains around Bansko are a mountain bickers dream and certainly set the scene for some extreme down hill biking! Bikes can be hired in Bansko and then you can either set off on your own and explore the national park in your time. Avalon Hotel can arrange a guide for you. However, if the up hill doesn't appeal, you can have you and your bike taken to the top of the mountain for a massive down hill run into the town. Please email James for details of prices and availability. Avalon Hotel advises that you bring your own riding helmets with you for your own safety.
:: Walking
The woodlands surrounding Bansko are a National Park. The area has been preserved as an area of outstanding natural beauty not only for the scenery and the views but also for the abundance of flora and fauna. The lack of intensive farming in Bulgaria means that the wildlife living here is spectacularly varied and beautiful to behold. Avalon Hotel can arrange guides for you and or transport to remote places from which you can walk back. We can recommend walks for all fitness levels and plan your excursions with you.
